This is just a short notice that Spring IDE 2.0.6 has been released today. 2.0.6 is bug fix only version and does not contain any new features.
Point your Eclipse update manager to http://springide.org/updatesite or http://dist.springframework.org/release/IDE. You can use S3Browse to browse the Amanzon S3 bucket for archived update site zips.
Spring IDE 2.0.6 will be the last version that supports Mylyn 2.3. The port to Mylyn 3.0 APIs has already been finished and will be available in the next few days. This migration is required to make installing Spring IDE into the Ganymede packages possible. If you want to use 2.0.6 with Ganymede please don’t install the Mylyn integration.

Where is the download URL?
For those of you who need to run it with Rad 7.0 (7.0.0.6):
1) Install ajdt 1.4.0 first
2) Install the parts you need of Spring IDE 2.0.6
This way I got no “internal error” exceptions.
I draw back I do not get the latest integration for everything but I got most of it.
I think I posted all required URLs in the post. What particular information is missing for you?
Thanks

I get an error saying it requires JDT 3.2.0. My Eclipse version is 3.3.2.
Does this only work with 3.2.0?

Just unselect the second dependency.
When installing under Eclipse 3.4 Granymede don’t forget to switch off “Spring IDE Dependencies (only for Eclipse 3.2.x)” as well as Mylyn integration.

Do you have an updated ETA on the mylyn 3.0 port? I am not in any particular rush but I am waiting for that before I update to Ganymede.
The Mylyn 3.0 port has been finished and is available from the Spring IDE 2.1 nightly update site. We are currently looking at releasing 2.1 by the end of July.
Do I have to install AJDT as well if I install on Ganymade?
Hey guys, is there an issue with the link. I just downloaded the latest ganymede version, and trying to download this plugin, I get an error, saying there is no repository available on that address. Any guess?
Http/1.1 Service Unavailable
damn..
I’m getting the same error Gabriel is. Please let me (and everyone) know when its available.
I don’t have a problem at all installing Spring IDE from http://dist.springframework.org/release/IDE.

I’m having a problem downloading the ide. I put the address in and I get the following:
Network connection problems encountered during search.
Unable to access “http://springide.org/updatesite/site.xml”.
Error parsing site stream. [Premature end of file.]
Premature end of file.

Is anyone else having this problem? The other link produces the same result.
Can someone confirm this is a valid Archive Site for loading locally as a downloaded file. Thanks in advance.

When attempting to load from a local file system this message is given…

Selected archive does not contain an update site. Please select another archive.
No, that is not the archived update site. You want to get http://dist.springframework.org/release/IDE/spring-ide_updatesite_2.0.6_v200806241357.zip
The file you downloaded is the “just-drop-in” archived that does not need installing. Please note that this is only supported on Eclipse 3.2.

i installed AJDT and restarted and then pointed to updatesite for spring ide. When attempting to install IDE core I get error saying: plugin ‘org.apache.commons.loggin’ is required. But I can’t selecte the dependency there.
I think you might need to tidy up the latest SpringIDE references. I’ve spent 3 days trying to get this to work with eclipse and hibernate. Everything is fine execpt the Spring documentation is confusing as to latest versions, installation requirements, Eclipse compatibility etc etc.
What is the official spring site ?
What is the latest version (I write this in Jan 2009) ?
What dependencies are required (you should list apache.commons if its indeed required) ?
A short up to date “how to” document would help as well.
All the best,
Shaun.
I got this error too.
Spring IDE Core (required) (2.0.6.v200806241357) requires plug-in “org.apache.commons.logging”.
I’m using the latest Eclipse Ganyamede and tried both URL’s mentioned above both they generated a dependancy error related to 2.2.4.RELEASE?!?
Except for the core, nothing can’t be installed hooray! :-S

Sorry you can delete that one.
